David T. Ginzo is back with project Tuya

After six years without releasing new material, David T. Ginzo is back with "Proxy," a hybrid between an album and a book released in the summer. This news follows the debut of "Coup In My Eyes," the first lead single after many years of collaborating as part of pioneering projects in Spain.

David T. Ginzo talks to SUBTERRANEA host and producer Jose Luis QuirĂ³s in LA PIPA IS LA PIPA, in Asturias. North Spain.

"Proxy" is set up as an album that is complemented by a book of the same name. As David T. Ginzo asserts, who is currently the sole member of Tuya and has been a supporting musician in countless bands throughout his career (such as Anni B Sweet, Pablo Und Destruktion, Sidonie, Catpeople, and others), it represents a dive into the more electronic format of the project; a collection of songs connected by dystopian yet hopeful images. Moreover, the book is a blend between an autobiography and an essay, where the artist discusses the creative process, his doubts, and proposals regarding the terms and misconceptions that exist in the world of music, like creation, opinion, or myths. "Proxy" approaches adulthood by revisiting childhood and adolescence, offering a perspective characteristic of an age of exuberance and confusion where everything is yet to come.

According to Ginzo: "The album and the book ('Proxy', both have the same name) will be released in September, and all the artwork is being done by ºjavier, a 2D and 3D animation artist. As the album release or other previews get closer, I'll tell you more about him, but the work he's doing is incredible. There will be looped animations timed with each song, from which all the cover images, visuals, and layout of the book are derived. Just like several elements present throughout the album, it plays with a degree of randomness in the effects, which complements it quite well."

In this podcast you can get close and personal with this extraordinary, polifacetic artist whose career has a long distance to cover still given his endless capability to create and surprise.
